"To me it feels like Nintendo made a Super Mario Bros. cookie cutter and used it to make the New series. Sure the cookies are good, but they weren't made with love and taste about the same as before. "

"This is hands down my favourite "new super mario bros". title. Despite the squirrel suit being a tad weak compared to more enjoyable power ups, the game employs many throw backs missing from earlier editions including new returning characters, and familiar level hooks. Throw in challenge mode which really puts your skills to test and clever Miiverse integration, and you got a really solid title."

"This is more of the same from the New SMB games. You have one new item and a bunch of short levels that aren't too challenging but have secrets. Despite that the game is very enjoyable. The best addition to this game is the new Challenge Mode. This adds specially designed levels with 1up goals, coin gols, or tasks like not touching the ground to get to the end. Not a must have but a should have."
